Fall Herding Trial Was Tervific!

The September 23-24 herding trial at Wooden Ewe Ranch was a showcase of Terv successes!

On Saturday, the very first run was a long-awaited Q – Dan De Legge & Penny worked the ducks through the Advanced B course and not only did a great job getting around TO the shedding ring at the end, but also did a quick and efficient shed to FINALLY finish her Advanced B duck title (HXBd)!! Sue Fregien’s Turi won the Intermediate B duck class as well.
A course ducks saw Sean Hathaway & Ranger not only win the Intermediate class, but finish the Intermediate title (HXAd) and also earn Reserve High in Trial for ducks.

Saturday the sheep trial did not have too many qualifying runs, but there were two Tervs in the ribbons – Sue & Turi earned 1st place in Advanced along with High in Trial, and Sean & Ranger won 1st place in Intermediate to finish his HIAs title and earn his second Reserve High in Trial for the day.

On Sunday, Sue & Turi earned a first place and Reserve High in Trial ducks to finish the Intermediate B duck title (HIBd). She then repeated that success in Advanced sheep – another 1st and RHIT! Sean & Ranger won the Intermediate sheep class for High in Trial. It turned out that Turi & Ranger did a mirror image of big awards from Saturday and Sunday, each getting one HIT and 2 RHITs each! Many thanks to Dan & Kristi for hosting the trial at their place, even had beautiful weather for us! Thanks also to GLBTC members Dan, Sean, Jacqui, Lynn, Debbie, Rosie, Ann, Jim, & Levi for helping out with stock handling, scribing, sheet running, scoring, and all the other things that go with holding a herding trial. A fun weekend overall!
